Aflux keeps you informed at every step of your document workflows — from the moment a signer completes a request to when an email bounces or a QR code hits its scan limit. Notifications surface in the in-app notification center and optionally in your email inbox, while the activity timeline gives you a complete, timestamped audit trail of everything that happens on your account.

Notification Types

Aflux generates notifications for the following events:

Signature Completed

Fires when all required signers have signed a document. Includes the document name and a link to the completed PDF.

Signature Declined

Fires when any signer explicitly declines to sign. Includes the signer’s name and an optional decline reason.

Email Bounce

Fires when a sent email cannot be delivered to a recipient. Distinguishes between hard bounces (permanent) and soft bounces (transient).

QR Code Scanned

Fires each time one of your QR codes is scanned. For high-volume codes, you can configure digest notifications instead of per-scan alerts.

Storage Quota Warning

Fires when your Aflux internal storage reaches 80% and again at 95% of your plan’s quota, giving you time to free space or upgrade.

Where Notifications Appear

Aflux delivers notifications through two channels: In-app notification center — Click the bell icon (🔔) in the top navigation bar from any page in Aflux. The center shows your most recent unread notifications in chronological order. Click any notification to jump to the relevant document, campaign, or QR code. Use Mark all as read to clear the unread count. Email alerts — Aflux can send notification emails to the address on your account. Email alerts include a brief summary of the event and a direct link back into the platform. You control which events send email alerts in your notification preferences.

Configuring Notification Preferences

Tailor which events notify you and through which channel:
1

Open notification settings

Click your account avatar in the bottom-left corner, select Settings, then choose Notifications from the left menu.
2

Choose events to track

Each notification type has a row in the settings table. Enable or disable the toggle under In-App and Email independently for each event type.
3

Configure QR scan frequency

For QR code scan events, choose between Every scan (a notification per scan) and Daily digest (one summary email per day). High-traffic codes benefit from the digest setting.
4

Save your preferences

Click Save Preferences. Changes take effect immediately for all future events.
Advanced notification customization — including per-document notification rules, webhook delivery, and team-level notification routing — is available on Pro and above. On the Free plan, notifications follow the default per-account settings described above.

Activity Timeline

The activity timeline is a complete audit log of every action taken across your Aflux account. Access it by clicking Activity in the left sidebar, or view a condensed version directly on the dashboard. Each timeline entry records:

Audit Log Retention

How far back the activity timeline goes depends on your plan:
Once an event falls outside your retention window, it is permanently removed from the timeline. If you need long-term audit records for compliance purposes, export your activity log regularly or upgrade to Business/Enterprise for extended retention.

Filtering and Searching the Activity Log

Use the controls above the timeline to narrow down events:
Click the Module dropdown and select one or more modules — Bulk Email, E-Signature, or QR Codes. The timeline immediately updates to show only events from the selected modules.
Click the Date Range picker and choose a preset (Today, Last 7 Days, Last 30 Days) or set a custom start and end date. The range is limited by your plan’s retention window.
Click the Actor dropdown to show only events performed by a specific team member. This is especially useful for auditing a particular user’s activity.
Type a document name, email address, or event description into the Search field. Aflux performs a full-text search across event descriptions within the active date range.
Click Export in the top-right corner of the timeline to download a CSV of the currently filtered view. The export includes all columns: timestamp, actor, event, module, and resource. Business and Enterprise accounts can also schedule automated daily or weekly CSV exports.
Combine filters to audit specific workflows — for example, filter by the E-Signature module, a specific actor, and a one-week date range to review all signature actions a team member took during a project.
