The QR Codes module bridges your physical materials and your digital documents. Instead of printing a static URL that breaks the moment a file moves, you generate a dynamic QR code that stays constant while the content behind it can change at any time — no reprinting required. Link a QR code to a product data sheet, an event brochure, a contract folder, or any file in your connected cloud storage, then track every scan in real time with location, device, and time data.

Creating a QR Code

You have full control over what a code links to, how it looks, and who can access it.

Link to Files or Folders

Point a QR code at a single file (PDF, image, video, spreadsheet) or an entire folder. Folder-level codes expose all contents inside, including files added after the code was created.

Custom Design

Adjust foreground and background colours, embed your logo in the centre of the code, and choose between square and rounded module styles to match your brand.

Flexible Export Formats

Download your QR code as PNG for digital use, SVG for scalable print, or PDF for direct inclusion in print-ready documents — all from the same generation screen.

Access Control

Not every document should be publicly accessible. Aflux lets you layer multiple access restrictions on any QR code without changing the code itself.

Password Protection

Require scanners to enter a password before the linked content loads. You can update or remove the password at any time without regenerating the code.

Expiration Dates

Set a date and time after which the code stops working. Ideal for time-limited offers, event passes, or documents that are only valid for a specific period.

Scan Limits

Cap the total number of times a code can be scanned. Once the limit is reached, further scans display a customisable expired message.

IP Restrictions

Restrict access to specific IP ranges so that only scanners on your corporate network or a known location can view the linked content.

Scan Analytics

Every scan generates a data point. Aflux aggregates these into a real-time analytics dashboard so you can measure the impact of physical campaigns, printed materials, and shared documents.

Real-Time Tracking

See scan counts update live. Drill into any time window to compare performance across days, weeks, or months.

Location Data

View a geographic heat map of where your scans originate, broken down by country, region, and city.

Device Analytics

Understand whether your audience is scanning from iOS, Android, or desktop, and which browsers they use — useful for optimising the linked landing page.

Time Patterns

Identify peak scanning hours and days to time future print distributions and campaigns more effectively.

Folder-Level QR Codes

Link a QR code to a folder rather than a single file to create a living resource hub that updates automatically as you add, replace, or remove files inside the folder.
  • Auto-sync: new files added to the folder are immediately accessible to anyone who scans the code — no regeneration needed.
  • Nested structure: scanners see a clean file browser that reflects the folder’s subdirectory structure, with breadcrumb navigation.
  • Bulk access: perfect for product catalogues, project document sets, event materials, and onboarding packs where content evolves over time.

Custom Design

A QR code is a brand touchpoint. Aflux gives you the design tools to make it look intentional rather than generic.
Set any foreground colour for the modules (the dark squares) and any background colour. Aflux automatically checks contrast ratios and warns you if the combination is likely to cause scan errors. Dark foreground on a light background always yields the most reliable scanning.
Upload a PNG or SVG logo to embed in the centre of the code. Aflux reserves a safe zone and adds sufficient error-correction redundancy so the code scans correctly even with the logo present. Keep logos under 30% of the code area for best results.
Choose between square, rounded, or dot-style modules and independently style the three corner finder patterns to create a distinctive look that still scans reliably on all standard QR readers.

Lifecycle Management

Because Aflux QR codes are dynamic, the URL encoded in the printed code never changes — only the destination does. This means you can update the linked file, swap a brochure for a newer version, or point the code at a completely different document, all without reprinting a single poster, business card, or product label.
  • Enable / disable instantly: toggle any code off from the dashboard and scanners immediately see a deactivated page. Toggle it back on at any time.
  • Re-target: change the linked file or folder at any point in the code’s life. Historical scan data is retained and continues to accumulate under the same code record.
  • Bulk actions: select multiple codes to enable, disable, or delete them simultaneously — useful when managing codes across a product line or event series.

How to Generate Your First QR Code

1

Go to QR Codes → New QR Code

Open the Aflux dashboard and click QR Codes in the left sidebar. Then click New QR Code in the top-right corner.
2

Select a file from your connected storage or enter a URL

Click Browse Storage to pick a file or folder from your connected Google Drive (or OneDrive / Dropbox once available), or click Enter URL to link the code to any web address. The selected target is displayed as a preview below the input.
3

Customise colours, add your logo, and choose the output format

In the Design panel, set your foreground and background colours, upload your logo, and pick a module style. Then select your download format: PNG, SVG, or PDF. A live preview updates as you make changes.
4

Set access options: password, expiration date, scan limit

Open the Access Control tab. Toggle on Password Protection and enter a password if required, set an Expiration Date using the date picker, and enter a Scan Limit if you want to cap total scans. Leave all options off for an open, unlimited code.
5

Click Generate and download your QR code

Click Generate QR Code. Aflux creates the code and opens the download dialog. Download in your chosen format — or click Copy to Clipboard to paste the PNG directly into a design tool.
6

Share or print it — scans are tracked in your Analytics tab

Place the QR code on your printed materials, website, or email. Every scan is recorded immediately. Click into the code from your QR Codes list and open the Analytics tab to watch scan data accumulate in real time.
