Why Bring-Your-Own Storage Matters
Keeping your files in your own cloud means:- You own your data — Aflux never takes a copy of your documents for its own storage.
- No vendor lock-in — disconnect Aflux at any time; your files stay exactly where they are.
- Familiar folder structure — organise documents in Drive, OneDrive, or Dropbox the way you already do, and Aflux surfaces them automatically.
- Compliance-friendly — for GDPR and other data-residency requirements, your data stays in the region your cloud provider guarantees.
Supported Storage Providers
OneDrive and Dropbox integrations are coming soon. Google Drive is fully available today. Sign up for the waitlist from Settings → Integrations to be notified the moment these providers launch.
Connect Google Drive
Connecting Google Drive takes under a minute and uses Google’s standard OAuth flow — Aflux never sees or stores your Google password.1
Open Integrations settings
In the Aflux dashboard, click Settings in the left sidebar, then select Integrations from the settings menu.
2
Click Connect on Google Drive
Find the Google Drive card and click Connect. Aflux will open a Google OAuth authorisation window in a new pop-up or tab.
3
Sign in to Google and grant access
Select the Google account that holds the Drive you want to link. Review the permissions Aflux requests — it needs permission to read and write files in Drive — then click Allow.
Aflux only accesses files and folders you explicitly share with it through the Aflux interface. It does not scan or index your entire Drive.
4
Choose a default folder (optional)
After authorisation, Aflux will prompt you to select a default folder in your Drive where new Aflux documents will be saved. You can pick an existing folder or create a new one (for example,
Aflux Documents). You can change this folder at any time.5
Confirm the connection
Click Save to finalise. The Google Drive card in Settings → Integrations will now show a green Connected badge alongside your Google account email address. Your Drive is ready to use across all Aflux modules.
Use Internal Storage
If you prefer not to connect a third-party provider — or while you wait for OneDrive and Dropbox to launch — you can use Aflux’s internal storage. Internal storage is available on all plans with no setup required; it is the default until you connect an external provider. To confirm or switch to internal storage, go to Settings → Integrations and ensure the Internal Storage tile shows as active. All files uploaded or generated inside Aflux will be stored on Aflux-managed infrastructure, subject to your plan’s storage quota.Storage Limits by Plan
Storage consumed on an external provider (Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox) counts against your provider quota, not your Aflux quota. Aflux internal storage quota only applies to files stored on Aflux-managed infrastructure.
Manage Connected Providers
You can view, disconnect, and switch storage providers at any time from Settings → Integrations.View connected providers
View connected providers
Navigate to Settings → Integrations. Each storage provider card displays its connection status, the linked account email, and the default folder path. A Connected badge (green) confirms an active link; a Disconnected badge (grey) means the provider is not currently linked.
Disconnect a provider
Disconnect a provider
On the provider card, click the ⋯ menu (three dots) and select Disconnect. Aflux will ask you to confirm. Once disconnected, Aflux can no longer read or write to that account. Your files in the provider are unaffected — they remain exactly where they are.
Switch the active provider
Switch the active provider
Aflux supports one active external storage provider at a time. To switch — for example, from Google Drive to OneDrive once it launches — connect the new provider first (it will not become active immediately), then click Set as Default on the new provider card. Aflux will use the new provider for all subsequent file operations. Previously stored files are not moved.
